Our upcoming Catholic Daham Pasala program is designed to be more than just a learning space,it is a structured journey of spiritual formation, psychological growth, and moral development. In a world where students face increasing stress, identity confusion, and emotional pressure, this program provides a safe and meaningful environment where faith and learning work together. Psychologically, regular spiritual education strengthens emotional regulation, improves attention, and builds resilience. When students reflect on values such as forgiveness, compassion, and purpose, they develop healthier coping mechanisms and a more stable inner life.
Spiritually, this program guides students toward a deeper relationship with God through prayer, Scripture, and reflection. As Scripture says,
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
This becomes not just a verse to memorize, but a lived experience of strength in daily challenges. Another guiding truth is “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10), encouraging inner peace in a noisy world.
We also emphasize the principle of “Fac quod potes; Deus reliqua faciet” , do your best, and God will do the rest. This balance between human effort and divine grace helps students develop both discipline and trust. In Latin spirituality, this harmony is often expressed as
Ora et labora
pray and work.
Importantly, all classes are being recorded, allowing students to revisit teachings, reflect more deeply, and learn at their own pace. This supports modern educational psychology, where repetition and review significantly improve long-term memory and understanding.
Overall, this program is not only academic instruction but also a path toward emotional stability, moral clarity, and spiritual maturity. It aims to form students who are intellectually capable, psychologically balanced, and spiritually grounded, prepared not only for examinations, but for life itself in service to others and to God.
BUDDHIST DAHAM PASALA
Our upcoming Daham Pasala program is designed as a balanced spiritual and psychological development space, drawing wisdom from both Catholic and Buddhist traditions to support students in their moral formation, emotional stability, and inner growth.
From a psychological perspective, structured religious education has been shown to improve self-control, reduce anxiety, and strengthen a sense of identity and purpose in young learners. When students are guided through values such as compassion, discipline, and mindfulness, they develop healthier thought patterns and more stable emotional responses. This becomes especially important in today’s fast-changing world where students often struggle with stress, distraction, and pressure.
From the Buddhist perspective, we draw inspiration from core teachings such as mindfulness and self-awareness. The Dhammapada says, “Manopubbaṅgamā dhammā, manoseṭṭhā manomayā” — “Mind precedes all phenomena, mind is chief, mind-made are they.” This highlights the importance of training the mind, which is central in our Daham Pasala approach. Another guiding verse, “Appamādo amatapadaṃ” — “Mindfulness is the path to the deathless,” reminds students that awareness and discipline lead to true peace and wisdom
